Sorry for the delay in commenting on this problem.

Two obvious questions first -

1. If you have Dim-dip wiring, have you checked the fuses as Fuse 5
controls the dim-dip lighting and if this has gone nothing will happen. For
info, Fuses 8 and 9 control LH and RH dipped beams respectively whilst 10
and 11 control LH main + RH spot and RH main + LH spot respectively.

2. Are all the earth paths OK? As other things disappear this is a
possibility as some circuits may be "earthing" back through others (it
happens!) particularly if the wiring is a bit tired

In the past when I have had any problems relating to the lights on my H4 it
has always been down to the relay blade connector surfaces so pull the
relays one by one, clean the connectors and replace whilst crossing fingers!

Hope this works,

Hamish

Subject: [Quantum Owners] interesting electrical problem

Well, I put the wheels back on the H4 this week, looked out the advisory
notices from last years MOT, charged the battery and....no problem, really,
except 1) The headlights (on dip beam) suddenly go off taking the side
lights with them. Switch to Main beam...and they work, but on dip...nothing
Switch to sidelights only with engine running and I get dipped lights on
dim, as expected. 2) No right hand turn signal....no click, no flash, no
dash warning light. Left hand turn signal....OK: click noise, all signals
work, but no dash board warning light. HAzard warning..everything works as
it should!! (All signals and dash warnings too).

Any ideas as to what to look for?

Thanks!

Bill Jackson
