Hi All
I probably should have posted hear before listing on Ebay - some of you may
have seen the car there. If you search posts or have a good memory you'll
know that the car, used by my son, was taken off the road in November 2011
needing attention to the cambelt tensioner and CV joints (thanks to Jim H
for the diagnosis of the CV joint issue).
The car has taken this long to return to life partially due to incapacity
on my behalf following a argument between my tin box and an HGV, and other
jobs that came out of the woodwork.
When I removed the offside wheelarch liner to aid access to the cam belt
and pulleys, I found that the powder coating on the "drivetrain cage" had
failed under the fibreglass. So cleaning and painting of all the metal work
was undertaken including removing the nearside wheelarch liner. Having
sorted out the mechanical issues and taken care of the metalwork, I decided
I had to do something with the interior. The seats and (MK3) dash were OK,
but the carpet was a felt type material. This has been duly replaced with a
gell backed proper car carpet and the doorcards tidied up.
The response from e bay was dismal to say the least, and I've only got one
firm offer. The problem, for me, is that the chaps who's made the offer
isn't really interetsed in Quantums. He just seemingly wants a fibreglass
car, having owned a Dutton Sierra in his youth, and isalso looking at a
Rickman Ranger.
I've held off getting the car MOT'd., hoping to arrange use of the buyers
insurance to facilitate taking the car in, and (reasonably) confident it
would pass, or I'd sort out any failure items. I can see this seems to have
put people off somewhat, so I'm looking to arrange insurance cover to allow
me to get the MOT pre sale.
The car is available with or without the hardtop (which got more enquiry e
mails than the car, and was sold for £275 until transport issues kiboshed
the sale), and I'm looking for a genuine enthusiast rather than let it go
to someone I don't trust to look after her.The original ad should hopefully
still be viewable (item 251284478719). It's been looked after and the
mechanicals and interior sorted, with the body showing it's age (looks good
from 3-4 metres!) and body/paint just isn't my area.
Really needs to go soon, and I'd really rather it went to a club member
than sierra man!

Tried to add photo's but the sizes are too large for googlegroups. happy to
e mail out, or post in some other way if advised how!
Cheers
StevieCee
