Hi, I use the autoglym fabric hood cleaner and conditioner kit, every September time on my Elan, same type of hood, luckily my H4 isnt a fabric roof.
There are plenty of water proofers, but they all wear off in months rather than years, and the older the hood gets, the more the fabric stretches, and becomes more breathable, and prone to seeping the rain through, so as it gets older may be worth doing twice a year rather than just the once? The original black liquid that I used on my first 2+2 worked well but did mark when the hood was folded which probably isn't too much of an issue at this time of year.
