Had the same problem with our Beauford earlier this year! It has
electrically operated front seats and to get through IVA the fore and aft
movement of the driver's seat has to be inhibited such that it can only be
moved with the car stationary, the handbrake on and an override button held
in on the side of the seat. The tester had never heard of this! Surely
other cars with electrically operated seats must have the same constraint?

Subject: [Quantum Owners] MOT's !

Dear All,

Thought you might want to hear this. 2+2 failed the MOT due to the drivers
seat not moving as required. I checked it and it seemed OK, so I just
lub'ed it and realised that the 80's Ford mechanism has a sideways movement
to a handle while many other cars have a vertical movement of a bar to
release. So on retest I stressed the sideways movement. In the end the
tester was good enough to say he made a mistake and was moving the handle
the wrong way all the time! Still no extra cost.

Cheers and Happy Christmas All.

Just got the reworked Bronze Coupe (now called TALOS) back from Eddie, so
looking forward to playing ......

Derek
