you've just gotta take the rear grp section off.. It isn't that hard as long as you can undo the wiring easily. on both of mine I've had there are two bolts in the boot and then two at the bottom of the wheel arches. then the tub will lift off.. (frustratinlgly it will break any sealing done round the top by the roll bar.)
my fuel pumps have been mounted behind the pass seat or opposite on the boot. hope this helps somehow even tho it is frustrating news!
