Last time I tried to start my Calvy Mitchel I turned the key, (low pressure) fuel pump pumped, and fuel squirted out of many, many holes from the hose feeding the carbs!! Hi Mark, Just looked at your previous emails and i see 419 was stolen in 2013 What’s the story behind you getting it back ? I started a H4 donor 1.6 Zetec Mk3 Fiesta the other day, must have last been started 10 years ago when i parked it where it is. It also started first turn of the key (on a jump pack). Such a difference with fuel injected and electronic ignition cars compared with those with carbs and points. They are hard to start after 6 months. She hasn't been started since Sept 2012 and is only back in my possession following help from Steve Kodz. I finally had a chance to look at her today and thought I should find out if the engine ran, it is as smooth as when I drove into the garage in Sept 2012. Now starts the work to get her roadworthy again, the first issue I face is not having keys, the ignition is not a problem but what is the fuel cap from as I will have to break that off. Looking forward to the bruised knuckles and inevitable bumps and cuts that will go with this but getting out on the roads of N Yorkshire will make it all worthwhile.
