Last time I tried to start my Calvy Mitchel I turned the key, (low pressure) 
fuel pump pumped, and fuel squirted out of many, many holes from the hose 
feeding the carbs!! I say fuel, but it was more like water that had separated 
out of the fuel - when I drained the 'fuel' into a large milk container it 
separated into 2 layers of clear and sludge!

  What’s the story behind you getting it back ?

  I started a H4 donor 1.6 Zetec Mk3 Fiesta the other day, must have last been 
started 10 years ago when i parked it where it is.
  It also started first turn of the key (on a jump pack).

  Such a difference with fuel injected and electronic ignition cars compared 
with those with carbs and points.
  They are hard to start after 6 months.

  419 started this morning on the first 'turn of the key', Frankly I was 
amazed. She hasn't been started since Sept 2012 and is only back in my 
possession following help from Steve Kodz. I finally had a chance to look at 
her today and thought I should find out if the engine ran, it is as smooth as 
when I drove into the garage in Sept 2012. 


  Now starts the work to get her roadworthy again,  the first issue I face is 
not having keys, the ignition is not a problem but what is the fuel cap from as 
I will have to break that off.

  Looking forward to the bruised knuckles and inevitable bumps and cuts that 
will go with this but getting out on the roads of N Yorkshire will make it all 
worthwhile.
