Armed with the replacement ecu i started the Zetec in the saloon today
for the first time in 8 years.
It fired straight up followed by a vast cloud of rubber smoke from the
engine bay as the alternator had seized and the belt was slipping over
the pulley.
Turning the alternator fan by jamming a screwdriver in it freed it
enough to spin again and it now seems ok apart from a grumbling noise.
Strange the alternator seized as the car has been in a slightly heated
garage all the time.
Now to get it over here instead of at my parents and finish rebuilding
the interior that i started all that time ago.

Yes, i have a Megasquirt that i fitted into a Ford ecu case but it's not
mapped.
I just want to get it up and running again (after 8 years) with a
standard
Ford ECU.

I've one of his Megasquirt ECUs that is slowly going into my H4.
However I
think Jim is just looking for a standard Ford ECU to plug in.
