There is no drawing in the manual.

The drivers side needs 2 washers between the lug on the rack and the spaceframe, on both the top and bottom bolts. The passenger side needs one washer between the lug on the rack and the spaceframe, on both the top and bottom bolts.

I just measured one of the Quantum M10 washers and they are 2.4mm thick.

So you need about 4.8mm worth of washers on the drivers side bolts and 2.4mm on the passenger side, you may be able to use more thinner washers to make up the same thickness. Though, ideally they want to be a larger diameter than the width of the spaceframe tube or they could crush into the tube when the bolts are tightened.
And likewise between the rear of the spaceframe tube and the nut.

In addition, as Darren says, there really should be a M10 (a normal thickness one) between the bolt head and the lug on the rack to stop the bolt head chewing into the soft aluminium of the rack.

Jim,

Thanks for the reply, just to clarify a M10 washer is to be place on both the top and bottom bolts and if so, what do you do on the passenger side?

Is there a drawing in the manual to explain??

Andy

“Position the steering rack onto the frame, insert two M10 washers between the steering rack and frame on
the driver's side mounting and one M10 washer under the passenger”

Hi I was wondering if the spacer/washer is required when fitting
the steering rack as my one has cracked and I believe this was
    caused by the spacer.

I've checked the build manual but the steering rack fitment is not
    covered

    cheers..............Andy
