I didn't know that so i thought i'd check on Microcat, it only lists one
heater matrix for all Mk2 models from 1983 to 1988
Are you sure you aren't thinking of Mk1 and Mk2 Fiesta which are different.
Mk1 heater matrix is Ford part number 80FG 18B539 AA , Finis code
6092153
Mk2 Heater matrix is Ford part number 84FG 18B539 BA , Finis code
6114258

Unfortunately you won't know what you've got until you take it out. As
an alternative/short term fix you can disconnect the two hoses that
got into it (from the engine bay) and connect them together using a
short length of 15mm copper pipe.
It's not like you need the heater in this weather!
DON'T be tempted to get a MK3 matrix, hoping it will fit as it looks
the same in a pic, 'cos it's bigger so doesn't fit.

Picture 3 shows the pipes at the right and a clip just to the left of
them.
That whole heater unit is a good price, but you only need the matrix,
which is essentially a small radiator. I would expect the matrix in that
one might be old, so worth getting a new one too.
The matrix is similar to this Mk1 Fiesta one

You can get the matrix out without removing the entire heater unit, as
per
your eBay find as this sits at the bottom, and can probably be accessed
easily by removing your centre console. The pipes in the engine bay
can be
awkward yo get at.

And is it okay to keep driving as long as I keep the fluids up?
