Re Camshaft etc. : A agree with Jim's comments that all the performance
cam suppliers usually mark the end of their cams and I don't recall
seeing any marking on end of OEM cams. Maybe a regrind cam?
With regards vernier pulley it's not unknown for them to move
(especially the cheap alloy ones) - could it have just slid round to end
of adjustment range? If it is an alloy pulley worth checking the size of
teeth - the cheapo ones tend to wear badly. As Jim suggested probably
best to replace with standard for now.
Re valve springs - no idea tbh - all the aftermarket springs seem to
have various colour paint marks!

Does anybody know if people have advanced the cam timing on cvh
engines in relatively standard form?
Our engine is a 1600 bored out to 1800 and has a Vernier pulley fitted
which is advanced full it seems.
I thought it must have a uprated camshaft fitted.
Upon inspection of under the rocker it had green dot valve springs
which I thought were standard strength?
Furthermore to add to the the mystery upon removing the dizzy there
was no markings visible at all. So is it a standard cam fitted with a
Vernier pulley? Or do standard ford cams have markings in the dizzy
end anyway? I always thought aftermarket cams were stamped too so I'm
a bit lost.
Thanks
Mick
