I've done it in the past myself, been about 4 years though. However
without a sample of what you are doing, the version of OS and version
of Keynote it may be hard to replicate your issue.
Have you tried something simple like running activity monitor or Top
in Terminal and running the quartz file and testing input while
watching what is being used. Then drop into Keynote and do the same
and see what might be missing/different?
