Im assuming he means /Developer/Examples/ only has quartz composer
stuff in it if you upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6. But the examples in 10.6
have simply moved to /Developer/Library/Quartz Composer/Examples and
those should be there even with a fresh install.
I think its a shame that example files were not made to cover the full
range of new features in Snow Leopard, eg the 2D Fluid Simulator and
various uses of the dae loader and associated patches.
It also seems messy that quite a few of the repository compositions
that show up in the library have exactly the same name as some of the
patches (eg Cube) and the icons dont help to differentiate as they are
exactly the same for all types of library content.
Never mind, I am very happy with QC4 overall, many thanks to those who
made this stuff happen. I just hope that the failure of OpenCL to fall
back to CPU in QC when no suitable GPU device is available will be
fixed quickly, as its a bit of a showstopper.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Troy
I did a clean install from the $30 Snow Leopard DVD, is that the
'upgrade' install? Or do you mean upgrade the Host OS (10.5 -> 10.6)

Ugh, they told us that would be a good URL to use :(
Looks like the page is located at
developer.apple.com/graphicsimaging/quartzcomposer/
Vade and George are correct about samples although /developer/
examples will only be there on an upgrade install. In the future,
all examples will be online.
Sorry for the confusion.

You can also look in System/Library/Compositions, for some
relevant new files (mesh filters, for example).

You can find new patches with new features here:
/System/Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer patches
and
/Developer/Library/Quartz\ Composer/Examples
already installed in 10.6

Hi list,
Just installed SL and was very happy to have a look to the new
QC. However I'm a bit disappointed : the link http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/GraphicsImaging/idxQuartz-date.html
provided by the help menu of Quartz Composer lead to a
redirection pages :
<pnf_redirect_header.png>
You may have used an outdated link or typed the address (URL)
incorrectly. If you came to this page via a bookmark, please
update it accordingly.
The page you requested:
http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/GraphicsImaging/idxQuartz-date.html
The page to which you will be redirected:
http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/index.html
And from here impossible to find any relevant information and/or
download some compositions.
Any suggestions ?
