Sample compositions that live on the hard drive are linked to from the template creation startup window, and also in the patch library where examples are linked to in descriptions for some patches. Im not sure that functionality would work very well if these examples had to be retrieved online?

Are there currently any samples on Apples website? The link you provided shows pages that are old and Im struggling to find any sample library there at all, let alone new stuff. It would certainly be lovely if WWDC samples could be posted.

I wish Apple acknowledged Quartz Composer more, its sometimes easy to forget it exists when browsing their website. Considering they took the time to include OpenCL support in it, Im sort of surprised its been so invisible during the Snow Leopard launch. Developers now have an easy path to including 3d meshes in their applications, and a whole lot more, and Im scratching my head as to why Apple dont make more of a song and dance about it. Never mind, bravo to the unsung hero's of QC, maybe one day you will have your moment of glory, if Apple decide to push QC for use in future multitouch applications or something.

Cheers

When you start up the installer, you can still do a "clean" install by choosing the Utilities menu, selecting Disk Utility and erasing the disk before you start. I don't recommend it, since then you won't get the samples.

However, it is possible that the powers that be decided it was a bad idea to not ship samples with the devtools after all, and then I would be wrong. At some point in the future though, that is the plan so for maillist archive purposes, I suggest always going online for samples since they are sure to be most up to date there.

I'm looking into why none of the SnowLeopard WWDC samples have been pushed live yet :)

I did a clean install from the $30 Snow Leopard DVD, is that the 'upgrade' install? Or do you mean upgrade the Host OS (10.5 -> 10.6)
