Since Conjure users might be running multiple QCs on multiple spaces simultaneously, this can add up. And on MacBooks and MBPs, this can cause unwanted battery drain. But in my case, I want the animations in Conjure to take precedence over the QCs, which are generally slow moving backdrops. I'm not doing anything in the backdrops that require fluid or even moderately fast speed.Setting the frame rate is exactly what I needed to do. Thank you!
It's also important to note that setting the framerate _in_ QC doesn't actually affect how the compositions will render _outside_ of QC. If you're using a QCView, there's a method to control the framerate (- [theQCView setMaxRenderingFrameRate:(float)someRate];), and if you're using QCRenderer, you're in control of how frequently it redraws (via CVDisplayLink or whatever render timing mechanism in use).
