I briefly tried it on a macbook pro too, but it locked as soon as I tried 2 fingers or more (as in the composition froze, no hang/crash, and it continued as normal as soon as I went back to 1 finger).
On MacBook Pro, I observe that when I make a "V" formation using two fingers, the multitouch callback reliably stops sending updates (the composition doesn't freeze, the MultitouchPatch just doesn't have any updates to send to its structure output). Haven't figured out why.
