Is there any compatibility? What is the iPad's OS? and would it work with open GL?
http://developer.apple.com/iphone/index.action links to an API diff for the current iphone sdk beta (used to develop iPad applications)
from http://developer.apple.com/iphone/prerelease/library/releasenotes/General/iPhone32APIDiffs/index.html (the api diff), one can infer that it's effectively a large iPhone (iPhone OS, perhaps version 3.2). The list (as have all previous iPhone OS releases) omits Quartz.framework, which includes QuartzComposer and other related technologies.
So, like smokris said, no compatibility, and OpenGL ES (like the iPhone). Likely an ARM-compatible CPU (since it can run app store apps, which are compiled against arm), possibly with some enhancements/ extensions (I have yet to install the SDK on my 10.6 machine to inspect in more detail), unknown graphics capabilities.
