You want an actual physical video in? If you want HD, get a Decklink
Intensity card on a desktop or a Matrox MXO2 Mini for a laptop with an
express card 34 interface. The iMac is kind of unfortunately not very
expandable.
If you want SD, you can use a DV camera and an analog SD output, or a
DV digitize like an ADC55/110. There also exists some software to go
DV out to DV in from Mac to Mac (sans intermediate device), but they
can be finicky. Someone may have better suggestions in that department.
If you don't want any hardware or external connections, then sounds
like you want to stream video over a lan or some such? What do you
want to do exactly?

Howdie everyone.
What is the easiest way to get a video input on say, my laptop into
a quartz composer app running on my iMac?
We have tried using quartz composer visualizer, thinking I could
make one the 'dedicated processing composition' and the other the
composition file and then send the image across, but I can't find
much of anything on Quartz Composer Visualizer (it doesn't even have
a help option) and nothing on how to make a 'dedicated processing
composition'.
Any ideas?
Cheers
