Umm, at first glance that seems kinda over the top for what I want. It doesn't have to be a physical video in, it just need the input from the built-in camera on my laptop in my quartz composer on my iMac. I'm not too concerned how it gets there. If you want SD, you can use a DV camera I wish I had a camera, then i wouldn't need to do any of this :) > If you don't want any hardware or external connections, then sounds like > you want to stream video over a lan or some such? What do you want to do > exactly? Yes, I want to stream the video over a LAN. I'm thinking my wording of the original question probably confused people. The setup i wanted was iMac (with camera) ------- Screen --------- Projector (rear projection) But the DVI cord for the projector is not long enough, so I have to move my iMac closer and to the side, but this means I can not use the iMac's camera any more to monitor the screen. The only other camera I have is on my macbook pro, so I want to use that, stream the image to my iMac, which then uses it as it normally would. Does that make sense? Hopefully i'm not making it more confusing...
