This could be done pretty easily in a Math patch of generic QC patches, I did in in Javascript.. Im not sure why honestly :) This is pretty trivial, I dont imagine it would be a huge problem performance wise.

If the image size doesn't change, and the viewer size doesn't change, QC should only execute it once anyway. (thanks for remembering what Rob was asking for, btw -- I had completely forgotten, and totally missed the mark :)

Exactly~! I guess I should stop torturing myself and go to Javascript if it will save me time. Is javascript generally considered a bad (or okay) thing as far as performance goes?


Depends on a few things: how complex is the script, how frequently is it executed, and how much data is going in/coming out. Complex scripts take longer because they're doing more, executing every frame is worse than once total, or once per second etc, and large sets of data coming in/going out require QC to do some conversions, which has a bit of overhead (typically not much unless you're passing in/out gigantic structures).
