I've noticed if you move a JS patch in the editor it will re-evaluate. This is occasionally handy when it is connected to a consumer but not evaluating because the inputs haven't changed since the last run.

If you enable show private patches in the hidden QC prefs, you gain access to a "Log" patch which prints to the QC Editors log view, which you can use to trigger non consumer patches to run.
