OK, it should be fine then. What's happening is the QCView is getting a path which is not an NSString. If you put a breakpoint in your -loadCompositionFromFile: and check what this returns: [[NSBundle bundleForClass:[self class]] pathForResource:@"composition" ofType:@"qtz"] it should give a clue.
