Actually... after testing the color correction function inside RII again, I can't say I comprehend what's going on anymore.
Taking color correction off seems to make the image less bright... but color correction on makes it look equivalent to what it looks like rendered to a plain billboard outside RII. So, it makes me think that color correction is always "enabled" when rendering image to Billboard, or anything? RII becomes the only way to "turn it off" (this can't be right?). This doesn't seem to be cleared up by the tech note, but I'll do a slower read through again just in case I missed something. -GT On Tue, Dec 21, 2010 at 8:09 PM, George Toledo <gtole...@gmail.com> wrote: > > > On Tue, Dec 21, 2010 at 7:41 PM, Christopher Wright < > christopher_wri...@apple.com> wrote: > >> >> Color correction maps values from a source profile to a target profile. >> Whether you have 4 bits or 64 bits of precision, it doesn't matter; you'll >> just have more or less precision. >> >> http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#technotes/tn/tn2035.html > > > Does this mean that when color correction is on, one is running the image > through colorsync?
