Hello Jerry, I just looked into your composition and had problems to open it, because you were using 3rd party patches. Anyhow, I hope I reconstructed the missing one correctly.
One thing I notice was that the Billboard drawing the Soft Shadow Image has set "Add" as Blending option. Your core image filter inside the "Soft Shadow" Rendering patch produces an all black image with some alpha channel values, but when you are adding this to the destination buffer, nothing will change (it won't get darker!).
