A friend of mine is looking to record up to 6 cameras simultaneously (probably low-end USB cameras, but that is somewhat flexible). Ideally the cameras would all feed into 1 computer and get recorded into their own box, Hollywood squares style. One issue is that it needs to include audio. Is QC, using any available plugin, capable of taking 6 simultaneous video/audio pairs and dumping the results to a Quicktime file, say via Syphon/Soundflower or other methods? Also is there just a massive throughput issue with trying to hook that many cameras into a single device and run them into QC?
If there are other 3rd party solutions as well, I'd be interested to know. I don't think my friend has a very high budget for this operation, but I'm happy to pass along suggestions.
