Hi! If you don't do visual effects in real time to the six cameras I rather recommend to use QuickTime Player instead of QC to record the video streams. QC can't record to a QT file by itself and also audio is missing at all.
My expirience with USB is that one HD source need all the bandwidth on the USB bus. Don't know about USB 3 thought. Achim Breidenbach Boinx Software Ltd.
