I'm developing an app that allows overlaying of data onto video compositions. Imagine a rocket launch with the rocket's current altitude rendered as text in the corner.
I'm finding that this app ends up reproducing much of what's available in iMovie or FCP X. As far as I can tell, there's no plug-in API for FCP X to let me render titles in this fashion. Is there a way to use QC compositions in FCP X? I find this an incredible shortcoming of FCP X and iMovie, especially given that these products used to support a plug-in API. Any suggestions? I've glanced at FXPlug, but it requires Motion, which I don't have, so I don't know how well this would work. -- Rick
