This is sort of an uninformed question, in that you don't seem to know the 
difference between Core Image, OpenGL (which you did not mention, but meant, 
I'm sure) and and Metal; there is no Quartz Composer API.

Anyway, you have the fastest of the fast available to you in, of course, the 
Core Image patch (OpenGL), but more so in the OpenCL patch. That's even better 
than Metal.

There will be no Metal in Quartz Composer; it would not make sense to make a 
language made for gaming engineers available in Quartz Composer.
