AFAIK it is not supported on Qubes.

Looks like you have either installed Qubes using legacy boot or you have messed 
up the UEFI config.

That's OK, secure boot requires UEFI boot.

Yes, it is.

The rescue mounts system to /mnt/sysimage or something like it. It should write 
you a message in a messagebox or maybe as a message in the console. (I don't 
remember it exactly.) And it also informs you how to chroot.
