Apparently there are some problems with the 63xx series Opterons and coreboot: https://www.coreboot.org/Board:asus/kgpe-d16#CPUs_recommended_by_users I was also thinking about using a PCIe drive - but it looks like that would not work on KGPE-D16 (or maybe require another adapter + complications).
