You might need to update the BIOS, I think this is the latest available: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/lenovo-g-series-laptops/lenovo-g505s-notebook/downloads/DS038577 I ran Qubes 4.0rc1 on the vendor BIOS on that laptop and it worked OK.
