hi again

Firstly, is this the best place to ask these sort of questions? If not please
advise and I will post elsewhere next time....

There are a couple of places where I am unclear whether docs refer to R3.2 and
R4.

If someone can clarify this for me I will be glad to update the docs and submit
a PR.

1.

https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/templates/fedora-minimal/

This page contains general info and R4 specific info. Under the heading
"Customization" there is a table of software to be installed for various use
cases.

Further down is similar info relating specifically to R4.

My question is whether the R4 info advises software to be installed INSTEAD OF
or AS WELL AS the packages from the Customization section.

2.

Is it the intention of the Qubes team that every doc page applies to Q4.0
unless it otherwise says so on that page? And does the team believe that
intention has been achieved or is it a work-in-progress?

3.

https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/fedora-minimal-template-customization/

This page does not refer to any particular version of Qubes-OS. My assumption
would have been that it therefore applies as is to R4. However it does not flag
up the new default of no passwordless root. The reader is left to find this out
only after following the link to the minimal-templates page.

I would like to volunteer to make this clearer, but before I do please advise
which you feel would be the better update

A. Simply to include a comment that it does not apply to R4.0+ and refer
explicitly to the info on the minimal-templates page

B. Update this page to explain about passwordless root

advantage=simpler for user

disadvantage=duplicated info requires double maintenance in future

C. As B, with any other additions that you might like to suggest before I do
the work

4.

If there are any other doc pages relating to minimal templates where question 3
would apply, and where time has prevented the updates being applied already,
let me know and I will add them to my to-do list.

Is there somewhere a list of broken doc pages? If so please post a link.

Is there a forum or mailing list for people working on qubes docs?

If there are a lot of them it may take some time ;) and if other editors get
there first that is all the better, of course.

I was glad to be invited to submit a pull request relating to one of my
comments on documentation, and believe this is a useful way I can support this
project. My aim would be to get the docs into a state where they are detailed
enough not to confuse newcomers, and also not so verbose that they are boring
for existing wizards.

River~~
