Even a novice with a mere decade of Unix exposure - as myself -
understand what Tom has been writing. Some operating systems like to
keep things like they were... and do start ntpd via a link, which makes
it look like xntpd.
Maybe I am wrong... but someone with a Tru64 problem asked us for
help. Tom who likely work for the vendor came in. Why not appreciate
the vendor support?
Time to tune the volume down a bit?
