That's different from timed (Berkeley Time Synchronisation Protocol), 
which seems to use a single master but an average of all the well 
behaved times  <http://osr507doc.sco.com/en/NetAdminG/tspC.how.html>. 
Neither of them fit the description quoted in the original article, as 
they don't choose a single, best quality, system.
