I changed everything to take the mic input.
My mixer settings:
time:~# aumix -q
vol 72, 72, P
pcm 92, 92
speaker 0, 0
line 84, 84, P
mic 80, 80, R
cd 0, 0, P
igain 75, 75
line1 4, 4, P
phin 0, 0, P
phout 75, 75, P
video 0, 0, P
monitor 0, 0
The flag2 switch in ntp.conf:
server 127.127.7.0
fudge 127.127.7.0 flag2 0 flag4 1 time1 0.0005366 stratum 1
My ntp.audio0 file:
idev /dev/oss/ich0/pcm0
cdev /dev/oss/ich0/mix0
source mic
agc mic
monitor mic
It's still not working, even though I can hear it loud and clear
through the headphones plugged into the line out on the computer/

I think I'm going to try a different OS (maybe Solaris) and computer.
