I've only been a vegetarian for one month. I decided the day after
Christmas, I woke up and said "I'm not going to eat meat anymore" to
my husband, he thought I had gone insane. I have been studying
Buddhism after a trip to China in 2003 and usually Buddhists don't eat
meat because it involves killing another living being and that is
something that Buddhists just don't do. Right after I decided that, I
saw Meet Your Meat, the Peta video on animal cruelty and that further
convinced me that I didn't need meat anymore and so far, I've really
enjoyed being a vegetarian. In fact, I think the food I eat now is
much tastier, and healthier and my digestive system seems to have
improved dramatically.

I feel confident that this has been a permanent change for me now, and
have no intentions on ever going back to my old eating habits.
Especially because there are so many great choices out there now for
vegetarians.

So, just for fun, I wanted to hear about stories from other people
here in the group about when you decided to become a vegetarian and why.
