1. Look, Mom, No Hands
........................
No driver, either. Or remote control.
Team Banzai, one of 40 teams from around the country to advance to the
national semi-finals of the 2005 DARPA (Defense Advanced Research
Projects Agency) Grand Challenge, developed "Dora"--the world's first
fully-autonomous vehicle driven by Mac OS X.
The team selected a brand new 2004 stock Volkswagen Touareg to make the
175-mile mission over desert terrain without any human assistance.
Commercial and proprietary software running on Apple computers using Mac
OS X provided means for all the software development, scenario
simulations, data analysis and vehicle controls.
Check out Dora in action at the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge qualification
trials.

8. Hot Tips
............
Text can play an important role in your QuickTime movies. It can serve
as titles, subtitles, credits, teleprompter text or the complete content
of the movie perhaps. A text track is also used to contain information
for chapter tracks and HREF tracks.
Additionally, a text track uses very little bandwidth, so it doesn't
cost much to add one to your movie, but can provide a great benefit to
the final product. Learn how you can add text tracks to your movies
using QuickTime 7 Pro for Mac OS X.
