I have a static text portlet with a blurb > about me which shows up everywhere in my site except on the blog > folder. It somehow overrides everything else.
Ah-hah! I have figured it all out. I created a blog on my company intranet server and noticed that it handled portlets very differently and that the normal navigation portlet and my feedmixer portlet etc. showed up there with the the blog. So then I decided there was something wrong with my blog setup on my personal homepage. So I created a new blog and copied blog entries from the old blog to the new one and everything was much better. When I migrated my blog the migration script really missed a lot of stuff. My new blog did not have topic images or the uploads folders. I've been wondering how the new Quills handled topics. And of course the portlet behavior was very strange. So now all of my blog problems are resolved (for now) and my homepage is once again fully functional! Thanks to all for their help! I have learned a lot more about Plone while working through all of these issues. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to actually start contributing some code. -- Tracy Reed http://tracyreed.org
