If I understand your problem correctly, you'll want to do tools/clean up on each track before doing this. Are you doing velocity change or volume controler change? If the former it will definitely need cleaning up first. What you are encountering there is a note off substitute. Rather than having a note off, You're getting an extra note with a velocity of 0. Now of course, if you increase the velocity of the first note, the second note goes up as well, so you get douplicate notes. This drove me bonkers as well until arfy told me what the problem was.

Doing a channel split seems to make it happen more, but without splitting the channels, with files outside QWS, all tracks are bundled into one. Maybe it's the type of midi file and all I have to do is resave with another filetype before splitting channels or changing the volumes of notes?
