Hi, james could you please send me this utility, it would be invaluable.
I can and do use vienna to load them at the moment but this would be
fantastic.
Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers!

of a note
Hi,
Replying to a couple of questions.
... pitch bend sounded so exaggerated ...
As well as Pitch Bend messages, there is also a Pitch Bend Range message
that
you can send. Pitch Bend Range sets the number of semitones the pitch
should
vary when the pitch bend lever is moved to the maximum (or minimum)
positions.
... drums don't sound right ...
Did you mention you have a Yamaha keyboard? Sometimes Yamaha (and other
manufacturers
too) don't arrange their drum kits in the standard GM order. Got to watch
this one. But you can always use the Note Replace tool carefully to get
them right again.
... figured out how to get aftertouch to work ...
You may find that some keyboards "support" aftertouch, but if you look in
detail at the MIDI implementation chart at the back of the manual, you
will
find that the keyboard can receive aftertouch, but cannot transmit it.
In other words, the keyboard will do something if you send it an
aftertouch
message, but the keys themselves do not let you generate the messages in
the first place.
what does modulation do? ...
Typically modulation adds a vibrato effect, but many high-end keyboards
let
you change what it does on a patch by patch basis: so one patch might use
modulation for vibrato, another might add chorus, another might increase
volume ... Actually, the same is often true of aftertouch.
... soundfonts ... inaccessible ...
I have a command line utility for loading soundfonts. Haven't tried it on
my newer computer, but it used to work a treat.

Hope some of this is helpful.
