Hi Rod, I don't really know much about MIDI either. However, I can give you some suggestions. I don't have a PX 400r, but I have a PX110. I have a cable that has a USB plug on one end and then splits off into two separate MIDI cables. The USB cable plugs into your computer and the MIDI cables plug into your keyboard. I use a Yamaha USB Driver, but it still works with my Casio. When I bought the cable, it came with a CD for installation. The MIDI plugs have 5 pins in them and they do have holes on the ends. My keyboard has two MIDI plug outlets together shaped a little smaller than a dime. You might want to check out a store that sells sheet music. My dad got my USB Driver at a store that sells sheet music. Sincerely, Janelle
