I adjusted my IF gain for maximum S/N at I don't remember what frequency.  
(Probably should have used 32MC but didn't.)  The resulting gain was 
significantly below the standard value.

We should also take into account the setting of the IF gain (R-519).
I do not know if the procedure promoted by Chuck Rippel (Y2K-R3. Page 9-88) is 
the best one or not.
This procedure uses the IF deck self-generated noise to adjust the gain...
But from unit to unit, the mileage may vary a lot, and the global measured 
sensitivity also...

Any comments ??
