Ivan, That thread is 8 years old and may no longer apply to TeXLive2024.
Find the reshape.Rnw file and try running bin/R CMD Sweave path/to/reshape.Rnw. It should produce reshape.tex. When you run pdflatex reshape.tex, do you get a more useful error message?
The error occurs when building R. Since R's not installed I cannot run it to build reshape.tex.
