But let's skip this step. Here's reshape.tex from R-4.3.3: https://0x0.st/XidU.tex/reshape.tex (Feel free to inspect the plain text before running LaTeX on it. TeX has primitives that may execute arbitrary commands.) If you run texi2pdf -V reshape.tex on your system, does it break in a similar manner? What about pdflatex reshape.tex?
