Dear all,

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Physalia online course “Machine and
Deep Learning Methods in Population Genomics and Phylogeography” taking place
from 23 to 26 March.

Course website: [
https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/deep-learning-in-popgen/ ](
https://www.physalia-courses.org/courses-workshops/deep-learning-in-popgen/ )

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to applying modern machine
learning and deep learning techniques, including Convolutional Neural Networks
(CNNs), to analyse complex genomic data for evolutionary and demographic
inference. Participants will learn to simulate genetic data under different
demographic scenarios, apply machine learning for population genomics, and use
deep learning to detect selection signatures in genomic datasets.

Sessions run daily from 14:00 to 19:00 (Berlin time) and include lectures,
practical coding exercises, and real-world case studies.

Kind regards, Carlo
