Dear all,
ape 3.0-7 is now ready for release on CRAN. It includes a much faster
code for reading FASTA files, a new function for estimating chronograms
by PL and ML (which will eventually replace chronopl), and various
improvements and bug fixes already announced here. The sources are
available for testing as well as a compiled version for Windows (thanks
to Uwe Ligges's server) on ape's web site, or directly:

Tests are welcome, especially the new FASTA parser which should behave
slightly differently on Windows than on other OSs. The release date on
CRAN is planned around mid-January.
