I seem to recall the C language standard has two implementation profiles: a "conforming hosted implementation" must include full standard lib support, whereas a "conforming freestanding implementation" needs to supply only a minimal subset of the standard library, and is used for e.g. embedded applications where memory and CPU power are really tight. I think both versions of Scheme should be called Scheme, and we should come up with different nomenclature for each of the implementation profiles. MinScheme and FullScheme? Little Schemer and Seasoned Schemer? I dunno... --Jeff _______________________________________________ r6rs-discuss mailing list r6rs-discuss@lists.r6rs.org http://lists.r6rs.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/r6rs-discuss
