Hi RaceBasers,
The sky is heavily overcast with a hint of drizzle
in the air. I suggest the rain will stay away, though, and the track should be
perfect today [currenty firm @ 2.3.]
I've taken the $5 on offer for LASHED in the Zabeel
Classic, so we'll see what happens. A story on her in the NZ Herald today may
see that price drop a shade.
I note that MAROOFITY is scratched in the mile, so
CALVEEN is now @ $2.25. No value in my opinion.
Returning to cup day . . . did anyone notice that
ZABEAT paid over $7 for a place on the tote, yet was a $6 win fav earlier in the
week on futures betting. Very strange.
Anyway, onto the future . . . major changes are
occuring at Ellerslie. The next derby and Auckland Cup will be run in March
2006, and the Great Northern jumping events are moving to September
this year.
They're also changing the face of
the Ellerslie . . . especially interesting is the plan to build low
level houses at the back of the course between the main track and the
steeplechase course. Yuk!
