Hi - I thought Ellerslie Jan 1 was fun, but not a day for investing.
Horses not in the first 2 at the turn had no chance - so
opportunities were fairly limited.
I'd disregard the Cup result in an future assessments with the
exception of perhaps Bondy which put in a pretty good effort to try
and catch Bazelle (which was ridden brilliantly).
I was amazed to see Gee I Jane's run - what a fantastic sprint -
can't wait to see her in the Telegraph on a firm track.
I was hoping to kick 2005 off on the last day at Ellerslie, but I see
the weather forcast is for rain today!!!!!!!!!!You're got to be
patient during summers like this.
Calveen opened @ $2.75 - about what I expected - but it won't be a
doddle for her carrying 1 kg over WFA - however the opposition is not
as strong as it could have been.
Sunny and warm in Hawkes Bay - can I send some north???
