Thanks for bringing this up Chance.

It's not clear to me which error this rubygems downgrade solves.
I've seen lots of problems with newer versions of rubygems and haven't
been back to experiment. I'm currently on 1.6.2 but we should track
down the actual errors to see what we can solve.

Did you mention the specific error with rubygems?
