Point of clarification :
The Mormons believe --as part of Church doctrine-- that the Holy Spirit
did guide
the Founding Fathers in creation of the Constitution. For them, while the
Constitution
does not rise to the status of scripture, it does , nonetheless, have
something of the
gravitas of the Apocrypha in the Bible. Almost scripture, you might say, or
 maybe
better, scripture made into a practical document to guide our nation in the
paths of righteousness.

To speak personally, while the 3/5ths rule for slaves strikes me as Satan's
 intervention
in the process, otherwise --in principle-- I agree with the Mormons.

Just to express an opinion.

We have more people with SECEDE bumper stickers (in the colors and pattern
of the Texas flag, of course). Particularly since 2008.

"Similarly inspired?" Really? NO, wait, REALLY????????

Um, no, I don't think that the Holy Spirit inspired Thomas Jefferson (or
Madison or Hamilton) to write the Constitution. And no, I haven't met anyone
who goes that far either.

Wow, I guess we have more hard-core religious originalists here than in
Texas.

People don't go around worshipping the Bible, but they consider it sacred.
I've certainly met people who consider the Constitution similarly inspired -
haven't you?
